In this video, I explain what a loop lock is and how it can occur when contacts go through the go-to process too many times within a 30-minute period. I provide a step-by-step guide on how to fix loop locks, including ensuring a user is assigned and checking the order of contact additions.
Objective of the video is to show the user how to resolve a loop lock issue in the workflow by ensuring contacts do not get stuck in a loop, which can slow down the system.
Definition of a Loop Lock
Occurs when contacts go through a loop too many times within a 30-minute period, causing the loop to lock.
Slows down the system due to the continuous processing of contacts.
Identifying the Issue
Check if a user is assigned to the workflow.
If not, add the user back in to ensure it assigns to the contact.
ensure that the wait times (if changed) still coincide with the timeframes of the workflow as this can cause the contacts to drip past the workflow timeframes when sending out sms.
Review the execution log of the workflow
Resolving the Issue
Assign user(s) to the workflow
ensure the wait times if changed still coincide with the workflow timeframes when sending out sms.
Moving Contacts Back to the Beginning
Click on the user's icon or the head symbol.
Select "Move All" to move contacts back to the start of the process.
Contacts may not move instantly, so allow some time for the process to complete.
Refresh the screen if needed to see the updated status.
